About the book
Blackmere Hall kept two books apart: a Register with names but no dates, and a Porter’s Log with times but no names. Cross out 17,599 of 17,600 suspects to find the killer.
The front desk kept the Register: every guest’s name, room and terms, and not one date. The door kept the Porter’s Log: every arrival timed to the minute, and not one name. Then a guest was murdered, and the only record of who did it was split across the two.
Some clues describe a name, which only the Register can answer. Some describe an arrival, which only the Log can. Neither book can name the killer alone, so the answer cannot be guessed, skimmed or spotted early.
